A Devourer is a type of undead who was a greedy and rapacious ogre in life and is trapped between the mortal world and the afterlife by an unending hunger for living souls. A devourer appears as a skeletal ogre covered in mummified flesh with its ribcage clearly exposed. Within the ribcage is often an agonized figure which is actually the life essence of the devourer’s last victim. The essence is slowly consumed to feed the devourers magical abilities until it evaporates completely.
