Drow are a race of elves found throughout the multiverse. While not native to Krynn, there have been several accounts of them on this world.
On Krynn, "drow" is an Elvish word describing a dark elf, rather than referring to a particular race.
Drow on Krynn
- Raistlin is described as having faced three drow elves during his Test at the Tower of High Sorcery at Wayreth.
- A dark elf appears in the game book The Soulforge (Super Endless Quest), and is illustrated as a classic drow.
- The Companions encountered a drow in Pax Tharkas, although this was likely an undead dark elf.
- In one account, drow occupy the 'Dark Elven Wing' of Dargaard Keep. However, as this account refers to 'dark elven banshee clerics' in the context of Lord Soth, these are likely 'drow' in the Krynnish sense.
- The account also includes Kitiara Uth Matar as a penanggalan, as well as a tarrasque, neither of which are known to be native to Krynn.
- Another account mentions drow in the non-Krynnish sense, having arrived on Krynn via a Spelljammer called High Sword from the drow-ruled world of Nightlock. They came under the rule of Jiathuli, the spider-like handmaiden of Takhisis.
While not referred to as 'drow', Krynn is home to underground elves akin to the drow of Toril. These include the elves of Hest, and members of the Lucanesti enslaved by the Kingpriest of Istar.
In addition, Krynn does not have a true Underdark, traditional home of the drow of Toril. The southern, underground realm of Chorane, near Krynn's south pole, does have some similarities to the Underdark, however.
