Garan (? AC - Autumn, 349 AC) was a male Silvanesti Elf and the Lord of House Protector and commands the Windriders. He would wear armor under a gold samite robe while in Silvanost, had a jeweled sword, and rode on the griffon Skylord.

War of the Lance

In the Autumn of 349 AC, Lord Garan saw that Dragon Highlord Phair Caron's Red Dragonarmy was building up its forces along the border of Silvanesti. He wanted to strike first before she had finished building her troops up, but Lorac Caladon told him no and to allow more elves to get to the borderlands. This would not happen, and Phair Caron burned the Barrier Hedge and invaded Silvanesti in what was call The Silvanesti Campaign.

Lord Garan's troops ran a delaying action against the dragonarmy to allow for civilians to get out of the way. During the illusion-attack by his forces, they were winning, but quickly Phair Caron realized the trick and it turned into a route. Lord Garan was able to escape back to Silvanost, and there Lorac ordered the evacuation of the elven nation.

Lord Garan cared for his soldiers as if they were his own kin, and likely he remember each of the fallen members from this battle. Lord Garan died of a heart attack in the first month of the exiled elves' journey to Southern Ergoth. Some say it was because of a broken heart being away from the land he had attempted to defend.
