Groag ( ? AC - ? AC) was a male Hobgoblin that was a preening, spineless flunky for Toede. He had a lumpish head, chinless face, beady eyes, black hair down to his ears, and a nose that looks like it had been flattened by a rock.
War of the Lance
During the War of the Lance, Groad served Toede as his 2nd-in-command in the Dragonarmies until Toede was killed in a disastrous hunt.
Following the death of Toede, Groag went to work as a cook at the Jetties, a gritty inn in Flotsam that was in the southwest part of the city, due to he being considered an expert chef. When Toede was brought back to life, the two of them had to escape capture by Taywin Kroninsdau. They did, and found out that Toede's old adviser, the Aurak Draconian Gildentongue, had taken up leadership of Flotsam with the dragon Hopsloth. Between the two hobgoblins they were able to get Gildentongue covered in oil and lit on fire, causing Gildentongue to blow up. In the process Hopsloth ate Toede.
Groag continued to live in Flotsam, and even saw when the Juggernaut Crystityckol'k'kq'q came into the city on a killing spree. That included killing both Toede and Hopsloth. In the vaccume of power loss, Groag took over leadership in Flotsam. When Toede was brought back yet again, Groag would not give up power. So Toede led an army of kender, gnolls, and undead to depose Groag, who claimed the seat of power in Flotsam following the absence of a leader.
Once in Flotsam, Toede and Groag confronted one another and became friends once more; only to find the undead followers of the necromancer Bob besieged the town. A Hell-maiden named Judith appears to take Toede back to the Abyss after hearing of the bet by the demons, however his friends testify on his behalf that he has truly become noble. Since Toede nobly offers himself up to Judith in exchange for Groag and the rest's lives, Judith agreed to spare their lives. Once Toede became the Lord of Flotsam again, and he elevated Groag to a position of power.
Post-War of the Lance
As far as we know, Groag continued to serve the city and Toede for the rest of his life, but more information is unknown at this time.
